After having my feeders out for a month, I’m happy to report I had my first hummingbird of the 2017 season this evening. I was sitting at the dining room table and something caught my eye out of the window. I looked over and there was a hummingbird hovering around my red bird feeder that I put sunflower seeds in. He realized he wasn’t going to get anything that he was interested in and flew to my hummingbird feeder. It’s been a LONG wait but I’m very happy that my little friend found his way back to his summer home. Now if only he would tell his Oriole and Rose Breasted Grosbeak friends that I’m ready for them…..
