We had our first real snow yesterday; I don’t have an official total but I’m guessing it was somewhere between 8-10″. There’s just something about freshly fallen snow that is so calming and peaceful.
Before it got too dark I made sure my feeders were full and that my heated bird bath had water in it. There wasn’t a lot of activity while I was out there; usually I have a Chickadee or two that sit in the Serviceberry and talk to me while I’m filling feeders.
Tonight we had three visitors come visit just before dark. The biggest doe, was a frequent visitor last winter. I can tell because she has an injury to her right knee. It’s kind of neat knowing that she survived hunting season. I would imagine it’s because of where she hangs out; on the college campus.
