Happy Easter from Jeni the Bird Nerd! I couldn’t help but post a picture of my spring landscape. Yesterday we had a high temperature of 80 and my Fountain Cherry tree wasn’t blooming; you could tell where the blooms were going to be but I didn’t think it was ready to burst open. Upon waking up this morning, I discovered that it bloomed! My favorite flowers are daffodils, and I have plenty in my landscape.
I hope that most of you are able to spend time with family today. We will be getting together with my family later this afternoon. Yesterday I had a male Cardinal visit my photo booth, it was the first time that I was able to capture up close pictures. They say that when a Cardinal appears that it’s a visitor from heaven and I couldn’t help but think of my grandparents who have passed. They always find little ways to let us know that they are here with us, looking over us. I truly believe that they were here yesterday letting me know that they were thinking of me and giving me encouragement. My grandpa Stevenson is the one who fueled my love for birds and I’m sure that he approves of my journey into birding.
