Spring is coming!

I’ve noticed that some of our usual spring birds are making their way to my feeders.  Unfortunately, that means the bully birds are back!  I’ve already started to adjust my feeding schedule as these birds will empty your feeders in no time.  The bully birds I’m speaking of are Red-Winged Blackbirds, European Starlings, Brown-headed Cow Birds and Common Grackles.

The Sandhill Cranes are back as well; they are my number one sign that spring is right around the corner.  This is an exciting time of year and I can’t wait for my favorite spring birds to arrive; Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, Ruby-throated Hummingbird and Baltimore Orioles.  The hummingbirds should be here mid-April, orioles around Mother’s Day and the grosbeaks anywhere in between.

My daffodils are poking through the mulch, too!
