A couple of weeks ago I started preparing my treats for the outside birds for their Christmas present. I didn’t do anything too elaborate but I made the seed cakes that I’ve made before and the birds seem to love them! You can find the recipe for them under the Recipes category. After we were done opening gifts I decided to trek outside to fill the feeders and clean the heated birdbath so I hung up a few of the seed cakes and it didn’t take long for the woodpeckers to find them.

Stay tuned, I hope to go on a snowy owl adventure over the time off that I have for New Years. I haven’t seen any reported sightings on eBird for Gratiot County so I may venture to Tuscola County. It’s been kind of a bucket list trip for me to go to Fish Point and this sounds like a good excuse for me to go. Happy Birding!
