We’ve lived here for nearly 17 years and I’ve only had a couple of squirrels stop by but they’ve never stayed, until this year. I’ve had a little red squirrel, whom I’ve named Ollie, visiting for the last month or so. He’s very cute and seems to love the camera.
I wanted some kind of feeder for him so I was searching on Amazon and found a feeder that looks like a picnic table but I wasn’t hip on the price of $25; so today, I made my own out of scrap wood that we had in the garage. I don’t think it turned out too badly, it’s not perfect but I made it myself and I hope the little bugger uses it. Stay tuned for pictures. 🙂
I also am happy to report that the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Baltimore Orioles are back! The grosbeaks arrived the evening of the 2nd and the orioles this afternoon. I’m still waiting on the hummingbirds and I’m refreshing the nectar every couple of days. I’m sitting in my recliner in the living room with the sliding door open and I keep hearing the what sounds like hummingbird chatter however, I’m not seeing anyone at the feeder.
